Welcome to the site of Eddie Juke and the Real Country Band

We are a Country Band in every sense of the word. We are dedicated to playing and recreating music from the greats; nothing else will do.

Country Music has moved on and is constantly changing but we prefer music from the Golden Era; when you hear us play you will realise that we are playing music from that glorious time and we want it to sound as good today as the day it was first released. This is probably the music most country fans grew up on; after all we are not only musicians; we are also fans.

The three main band members are; Eddie Juke (Lead guitar & Vocals), Neil Bates (Drums) and Mike Harvey (Bass Guitar) although, from time to time, we are joined on stage by various guests.

Eddie Juke:  It would be easier to tell you what I have not done in music, from first learning to play Beatles Rolling Stones and 60's blues I have played every style of modern music; I found out about pedal steel guitar joining quite a few bands in the 70's and still play myself. I have fronted soul bands; been to The Emirates on Blues Brothers tours, ended up working with Blind Mississippi Morris and Brad Webb, touring Europe headlining festivals with them to eventually fronting a 60's tribute band but I have always wanted to do something I really love and never got round too doing till now and that was a proper country band so here it is.

Neil Bates
: At a very young age Neil recorded a couple of albums with country legend Stu Stevens. In the early 80's he moved to London and became a session musician for the best part of 20 years so he has recorded on many hit singles and albums in between playing West End musicals. At one point he was the resident TV drummer for Bobby Davro. Having now moved back in the area he became the obvious choice of drummer for the band.

Mike Harvey: I met Mike about 3 years ago when he 'depped' for our bass player, he did an outstanding job and was very easy and enthusiastic to get on even for the one gig it left me with the impression of if I need a bass player I will give Mike a call so he became the 1st choice for the band. Mike has been around playing quite a few years and still plays with The Underlimes who have had some success topping 7 digital’s download chart with September Rain, knocking 2002 Fame Academy winner, David Sneddon off the No.1 spot. The Underlimes also won Radio Six International’s record of the year with Life With You.
